# thedark > thedark (https://thedark.app) is a non-custodial Solana wallet recovery tool. It scans any Solana address for SOL locked in empty token accounts (rent), excess rent left after Solana's 2026 rent reduction (SIMD-0437), small token balances ("dust"), dead/rugged tokens, wrapped SOL and risky token approvals β€” then builds transactions the user signs in their own wallet to recover the SOL. Key facts: - Scanning is free and read-only (public address only, no wallet connection). - Recovery fee: 12% of recovered SOL (5% for Pro), taken inside the same transaction; nothing is charged if nothing is recovered. Revoke-only transactions have no fee. - Pro: $5 per 30 days, paid in SOL via Solana Pay; monitors up to 10 wallets with email/Telegram alerts. - Referral: 20% of the fee is paid on-chain to the referrer in the same transaction. - Safety: thedark never asks for seed phrases or private keys; every transaction is simulated before signing; real positions (>$5), NFTs, frozen and confidential accounts are never touched; burning is opt-in. - Legacy token accounts hold 2,039,280 lamports (~0.00204 SOL); since September 2026 new 165-byte accounts need 1,488,440 lamports. ## Pages - [Scan a wallet](https://thedark.app/scan): free scan of up to 5 addresses - [Recover](https://thedark.app/recover): connect wallet and sign recovery transactions - [Pro](https://thedark.app/pro): lower fee, monitoring and alerts - [Live stats](https://thedark.app/stats): on-chain verified recovery statistics - [Referral program](https://thedark.app/referral) - [FAQ](https://thedark.app/faq) ## Guides - [How to reclaim SOL rent from your Solana wallet](https://thedark.app/guides/how-to-reclaim-sol-rent): Step-by-step: find the SOL locked in empty token accounts and get it back by closing them β€” safely, in a few clicks. - [Excess rent: get SOL back from accounts you keep (SIMD-0437)](https://thedark.app/guides/excess-rent-simd-0437): Solana lowered its rent rate in 2026.
